Wardrobe Building: The Navy Blazer

In my last two posts I’ve written about blazers in no-colors: black and white. This time I would like to address navy, a neutral hue that has become the middle child of fashion, usually being forgotten. While it is not as crisp or elegant as black and white, and it doesn’t provide a completely neutral backdrop either, navy is a nice alternative if you are going for a softer look.
The most common use of navy blazers is in nautical style outfits. Whether one sticks to stripes, or adds a few pops of color as well, a navy blazer is a great finishing touch. Nautical outfits don’t seem to ever go out of style, they just get revamped with the latest cuts, proportions and fabrics.

Navy blazers work well with florals and other feminine patterns and textures as well, as they anchor the femininity a little. I can’t help but see a touch of retro in these outfits.

While black blazers are the most suitable for the creation of downtown-cool outfits, navy is also an option for those who think outside the box.

I hope I reminded you of the versatility of navy. Have a great day!
