Female shoe obsession cliches aside, footwear plays an incredibly important part in every woman's wardrobe. Shoes not only make or break outfits, but express our mood, and enable us to dress for the different roles in our every day life. So keeping up with shoe trends not only keeps us in the loop, but provides us with an ever changing language to express ourselves.
Summer and Fall 2014 trends offer an exciting new palette to work with. Here are some of the styles you'll be definitely seeing more of.
Caged and Lace-up Sandals
Caged and lace-up can help bring out that inner vamp of yours. You can enhance its sexy appeal by wearing it with dresses or leather, or you can use it to create a clashing, edgy combination with boyfriend jeans or drawstring pants.

Slip-On Sneakers
Slip-on sneakers are a fresh, new alternative to the Converse Chuck Taylors we've been seeing for the past few years. They come in snake and leopard print, as well as in a calf hair version. Which one is your favorite?

Pointy Toes
Pointy pumps have always been the ultimate symbol of class and elegance, but in the past few years they have been pushed to the background a bit. Now that we're finally over the pointy toe overload of the early 2000s, we're ready to wear them again. The best part? They come in mid-heels too.

Minimalist Sandals
This '90s inspired ankle strap style adds a touch of femininity to every outfit. It looks great with florals and frilly dresses, but it truly pops with tailored combos.

Loafers
The past few seasons have seen a revival of the loafer. Last year's aristocratic and studded styles have now been replaced with preppy shapes and thick soles.

Birkenstocks
Ladies and gentlemen, we found the new Ugg boot! As controversial as they are, Birkenstocks have taken street style blogs by storm, and it doesn't seem like they're going anywhere. So we might as well learn to enjoy their comfort.

Definitely going to try the slip-on sneakers and the loafers! I've never "touched" this side of shoes before, but now...as I get older (!!:)) ) they're a nice choice to look pretty AND young haha. I LOVE the pointy pumps and I'll always will...they add class and elegance to any outfit!
ReplyDeleteCongrats for your blog!

Thank you so much! I totally agree with you on pointy toes. And good luck with your experiment with slip-on sneakers and loafers. :)
