A Baggy Affair

This 4th of July weekend wasn't my best one, to say the least. I was expecting to enjoy the sunshine and flaunt my new sandals in Northern Michigan, but instead I spent it at mechanics and car dealerships. Our ride broke down 140 miles into our trip, forcing us to spend our weekend transporting it home and searching for a new one. Needless to say, our mini vacation was ruined, but we tried to spend at least our Sunday relaxing and walking around in the city.

When I put this look together, I made a conscious effort to push my limits a little by pairing loose garments. I always admired similar combinations on other women, but I never felt I could pull them off myself. I wanted to avoid looking like a potato sack just swallowed me, so I always kept half my outfit form fitting. But something about this combination of a loose shirt with these navy pleated pants was encouraging, so yesterday decided to wear this outfit out. Too bad I don't have any photos of myself standing, cause it looked pretty good. The heels and the fitted waist of the pants really pulled the proportions of the look together. I'll make sure I have better snaps next time.
